Potatoes

BioRevolution’s potato programme is aimed at improving both yield and crop quality while supporting healthier plant performance throughout the season. The results below cover multiple production regions and include not only yield and size distribution, but also common scab and aphid pressure.

Yield (t/ha)

Limpopo

Semi-commercial trial

The C4L programme delivered a 9% yield increase, achieving a record-breaking 72 t/ha - the highest yield in the farm's history.

Yield (t/ha) & Size Distribution

Clanwilliam

Commercial trial

The C4L treatment increased yield by 7% and shifted size distribution, with fewer small fruits and more in the largest categories.

Incidence of Common Scab

Variety: BP1

Aurora - 2010

Adding C4L to the standard fungicide programme significantly reduced the incidence of common scab compared to the standard programme alone.

Aphid Infestation

Variety: BP1

Aurora - 2010

Commercial trial

The C4L programme, when added to the standard practice, significantly decreased aphid infestation.

Taken together, these trials show that the programme’s value goes beyond tonnage alone. In potatoes, improvements in size profile, disease pressure, and pest incidence can all contribute to better pack-out, stronger returns, and a more consistent commercial result.
